Our Jubilee Street Party
TT says:
What better way to experience the product and enjoy a right royal spectacle than to throw our very own Platinum Jubilee party.
The bunting was hung, the cake stands were filled and the Pimm's was flowing. Now we just needed to turn up the volume to Vera Lynn and The White Cliffs of Dover...
As it was only March we didn't have the warm weather one would hope for during a bank holiday weekend in June, so we brought the outdoor trestle tables in and created one long 'street' table to all gather around and enjoy the spread of finest classic British food.
Streamers, balloons, garlands and bunting adorned every inch of the space, whilst the table itself was also an impressive display of red white and blue. From plates to napkins to cups, the Union flag was ubiquitous among the offering of cocktail sausages, finger sandwiches, scones and Bakewell tarts.
As well as eating, drinking and waving handheld flags, we wore fun dress up paper glasses and paper crowns. And for further light entertainment Jubilee themed trivia was scattered down the table to test our royal knowledge and help get the conversation flowing with a few laughs in between. True or false? Coronation Chicken was originally created for the Queen’s Coronation in 1953?
